The Sparks Cry For Mercy

Your calloused hands run up and down your pistol. A battered Colt M1900, corroded and slick with an oily residue, four bullets left. You morosely search the halls of your tenement, finding your neighbors with large, clean holes take from their flesh. Loud, grinding screeching becomes clearer the further you go, with bodies becoming less whole the further you travel. 

A massive complex of gears and pulleys lies at the end of the hallway.  The pulleys tug and shift, swinging a grotesque conglomerate of pressurized hydraulic plates. A body hangs limp, perforated systematically and methodically, with flesh-filled cans protruding as jagged teeth. The maw clamps, metal whirs, and the cans and the body fall to the floor. The beast rears back, counterbalancing an organ system of steel, and lunges forward, grinding it's carapace across the floor. You level your pistol.

Four. Three. Two. One. It's simply not enough.

"The Sparks Cry For Mercy" is a one-shot tabletop horror game exploring the horrific living conditions of the second industrial revolution. Through the use of cosmic horror, the various workers rights injustices and environmental malpractices of this era are given form. The players play as day-laborers, fighting exhaustion, with injuries compounding throughout the night making survival less and less probable.
